© IATholz, MaurerErnst Alexander Dengg studied architecture at the Technical University of Graz. He specialises in sustainable planning strategies at the interface of architecture, timber construction and sustainability – in particular timber construction, deconstruction and recyclability as well as circular planning.
As co-founder of Circulate ZT GmbH he develops together with Bettina Gossak-Kowalski material-friendly and resource-saving projects. He researches and teaches at the Chair of Architecture and Timber Construction at the Graz University of Technology and is also a lecturer in the part-time university course ‘Timber Construction and Technical Building’ (LifeLongLearning, Graz University of Technology).
Several years of teaching and research in Hong Kong as well as stays in Taipei, Kaohsiung, Liverpool and Valencia have deepened his understanding of sustainable urban development and the circular economy. He sees architecture not as a completed work, but as a dynamic conglomerate of different resources and building materials with different life spans.
